  • Hi, I'm Joe (me in photo), a 21-year-old fishing fanatic from the UK. My love for fishing started when I was 3 years old, and I’ve been addicted ever since.

  • As a fisherman, I always found it a hassle lugging around all the extra bits of gear—a net, weighing scale, and ruler—because who doesn't need proof of that giant catch beyond exaggerated hand gestures? This got me thinking: why not combine everything into a lightweight, floating fishing net?

  • That's exactly what I did. I designed a fishing net by fishermen, for fishermen, to take the hassle out of fishing so you can focus on what you love—catching fish! Having a floating net is pretty handy when fishing from a canoe or kayak, as my son and I do. The built in scale and ruler features are a nice touch, even though they aren't 100% accurate they are still good enough for my purposes. I like that it folds in half for easy storage, and the rubberized coating on the net itself makes it easy to clean as well as reduce getting tangled up with hooks and such.

A great foldable fishing net. Lightweight and well-made. The net folds, floats, and has a ruler and scale, and the netting feels like silicone that would be gentle on fish. Clipping the end of the net onto your fishing vest would be easy. My husband is teaching our son to fly fish and wanted a new net that my son could clip to his vest and one that won't sink. A gentle net was important to him since he is a catch-and-release fisherman. I think he will be really happy with this!

This is a great quality net with a plastic coated material that works very well. The scale is ok, but not the greatest feature and you have to subtract a pound for the wight of the net itself. It folds easily, handles well, and is just the right size for me.

INSTRUCTIONS, INSTRUCTIONS, INSTRUCTIONS needed, even just an arrow to show how to open the net would be great, and, how to calibrate the weight measuring handle. I was so frustrated that it could not figure out how to open the handle. I can tell you that the measuring part of the handle may twist around and not measure properly. NOW, the Net itself is GREAT. It easily holds a 6 lb. weight with no bend in it at all, it easily opens and folds up and the measuring ruler is accurate. The netting is a rubberized material and the material holding the net around the rim is durable and padded enough that it will not hurt any fish. I wanted this net because of its compactness and I actually got many great extra features. Great job with this net. Please provide instructions in the future. Thank you for a nice product and I will recommend you to my fishing friends.

This folding net has a sturdy hinge on it that holds well when it is extended, it was a little weird at first but you pull on the latch and it opens so you can fold it then locks into place. It also has a measuring tape built in so you can measure the fish INSIDE the net. Pretty cool idea. The net material it self is plastic coated so it should last for a while. Happy with it so far and excited to go catch some fish!

You would have to consider the weight of the net when weighing your catch because it isn't calibrated (or mine isn't) to exclude the weight of the net. So mine won't show the weight of anything more than 11 pounds because it shows that the net by itself weighs 1 pound. That's not a problem for me though. Everything else works fine. I believe you may be able to add an extension pole because it has a cut out for it in the end of the pole handle. See pics. I think this a a good buy and would recommend it.

I must admit, I had low expectations for this landing net with built-in scale. But, so far, I am impressed with its usefulness. The size is just right for my freshwater fishing from a kayak. I don't target 30-pound fish and I don't care about half-pound fish. The folding mechanism works well and the rubberized netting material is critical for not tangling with my hooks. It seems to float just fine, as advertised, which is key for me. (I have lost more than one net overboard into the water.) The measuring ruler is not that useful to me, I am mostly interested in measuring a fish if it is over 20 inches.So the most important feature for me is the scale. So far, my testing shows that the built-in scale is accurate enough to serve my purpose. I like to know the weight of the larger fish I catch. The digital scale I currently use is awkward to use and delays my ability to release the fish quickly and safely back into the water. This integrated net and scale let me get close enough to the accurate weight of the fish without any extra handling and delay. I tested with a known 7.5-pound weight and the scale was spot-on accurate. This is a winner for me.
